Never a mis-fire over 5 to 6 years. But after shooting up my case, I won't buy any more.

I'm very happy with this Ammo! almost cheaper than reloading my own.

Since starting Cowboy Action shooting, I have fired over 1000 rounds of this America Cowboy 45 Colt, with no problems, in either my Uberti 1873 lever gun, or any of my 45 SAA revolvers, including Uberti, Pietta, or Ruger Vaqueros. Starline brass, cleans up nice for easy reloading.

I have shot this through my Remington New Model Army Cartridge conversion, I wanted to start with a slow moving, low smoke round so I could practice at the indoor range. I liked the price and have had no problems with it so far. Plus they use starline brass which is great for reloading.

My previous 1 star review was based on multiple failure to fire issues I had. After contacting American Cowboy Ammo, they gladly exchanged my purchase, and threw in some bonus ammo for my trouble. I was impressed with the customer service. It's their customer service that earned them the extra starts in my book.
Unfortunately, the replacement ammo had the same issues. Problem appears to be the primers. While all other ammo brands I have shot in my 1873 rifle function without fail, these loads will only fire reliably if my hammer spring is cranked down as stiff as it can go. I think this stuff would be great with different primers. But as it stands, not what I'm looking for.

I shot a box through a Rugar Vaquero. Its one of the older ones wwith the heavy Blackhawk frame. This ammo has a very low recoil and it's accurate. If you're big enough to hold the heavy gun up, you can shoot it.

Shoot lots of Fiocchi and Ultramax with no issues in my Uberti 1873 carbine. My first experience with the American Cowboy brand, 5 of 15 rounds failed to fire.

This ammo is Clean burning for the most part and accurate. Does give off some smoke like the old west days bullets. It is very good for target shooting and cowboy action. Recoil is very tame from my New Ruger Vaquero and Colt SAA Peacemaker. I did notice the " shooting star" logo on the bottom of the brass which denotes Starline company brass which is very good for many reloading which I have been using for years. It does take the large primer. Overall it is excellent bullet for the price.
